About the Artist

web.jpg

Thank you for visiting my blog. Here you can catch a glimpse of the person behind the camera. I’ll post about recent & upcoming projects, my favorite places around town to hang out as well as share lots of stories about my ornery Beagle/Basset Hound mix, Jenkins. Also, if you sign up for a session, you’ll most likely get a sneak peek of your online gallery right here.

Ryan and I would love for you to also visit our website and share the link with your friends and family. It’s our hope that you can really connect to the souls shown in my web galleries. I search for that connection in each and every portrait session and during our time together I will be more than your photographer; I’ll be your friend.

I cherish the perfectly imperfect and capture people as I see them: some with soulful eyes and a somber heart…others brimming with such energy…soaring like a kite with only a string holding them down. I believe I am on a journey to discover who I am, and I get one step closer with each person I photograph. When I take a picture of you, I’m also taking a picture of me.

I look forward to working with you and making the connection. Thanks for stopping by!

Love your work! I would like to connect with you via email or phone – I have recently expanded my event planning business to the Columbus metro area and am looking to make connections with vendors who are top in their field – you seem to qualify : )

I love the look of your photos. Do you have any tutorials or actions/photo effects that you sell or can recommend?

Thanks and keep up the good work!

Hello! I’ve only ever purchased 1 action set (for which I really only use 1 action from the entire pack…Warm 70′s Love by Jesh de Rox) and 1 texture set (which I’m still experimenting around with). I have two other favorite actions that I wrote myself and my best textures are those that I went out and photographed on my own (a close-up of pond scum is my favorite of the moment). I hand-”clone” each image instead of using skin-smoothing filters, etc. This all takes more time, but I think it’s worth it in the long run.

Other than listed above, I treat every image as a unique piece of art and customize it based on how that image speaks to me. The most important thing is to start of with a great image. Actions should never “fix” an image, just enhance it. Hope this helps!
